Papers

Throughout the course of my undergraduate education as an anthropology major I completed a number of research projects both in and out of my coursework. The result of this research were several papers that presented the findings of my research. The papers are presented below and are available for view on the website.

Residential Abandonment on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis

This paper presents my research as a MURI scholar during the 2013-2014 academic school year. The research undertaken began as a look at the processes that have lead to the abandonment of my childhood neighborhood in the near eastside of Indianapolis. As the research progressed, I began to witness a stigmatization of race.

Final Report: Ethnographic Field Methods

This paper was the final project for my Ethnographic Field Methods course taken during the 2013 - 2014 academic school year. The research undertaken for the course was on Indianapolis' mass transit system, also known as IndyGo. The research project began as a look at the differences in ridership among Indianapolis' economic classes. The research was impacted by the horrible winter weather and, thus, morphed into a look at the intersection of race and class.

Annotated Bibliography: The Efficacy of Social Welfare Programs:

This paper was completed in the 2012 - 2013 academic school year for my Applied Anthropology Course. The bibliography details scholarly articles on social welfare programs.
